It hurts to be abandoned To be carelessly thrown away But I close my eyes Grasp my pain And turn it into a crystal lake Through that pain of loneliness I choose to see the joy From the friends who check on me Love me Share with me To the ones who’ve become family I think about my homes The ones that I’ve carved out I think about my desk Where I create magic And hope And I work I think about my classmates Trying to change the world I see my dreams and ambitions beside me So I keep pushing forward Yes I glance through all my memories Through all the things I’ve loved and lost And in that darkened abandonment I flip on the twinkly lights I admire each one, just a tiny glistening bulb But all those tiny lights together Turn the Night into Day The Dark into Light Suddenly those few insignificant shadows Are overwhelmed by love and light.
